Some Days – A Poem

Some days I want to believe
the Gospel is a myth
and this is all there is

But only some days

Some days I want to believe
it doesn’t matter whether
my loved ones know Christ

But only some days

Some days I want to believe
to eat, drink, and be merry
is all that matters in life

But only some days

Some days I want to believe
truth is relative, not absolute
and all paths lead to God

But only some days
and not today

I shared this today for dVerse Poets Pub Open Link Night.

I am a Jesus Freak, and I don't care who knows it. I am a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. My blood family is only part of the larger family of Christ that I belong to. I love to write, especially about my dear Savior.

  1. There is another choice:

    Where everything is not relative
    Where there are choices
Choices we make that matter because we matter to each other
and the here-and-now are the kingdom
and then it all matters — making obscene the hopes for more
and making horrible the imagining that we alone are safe and snug
with our god, our own perfect beliefs.

And never on some days, but on all days.

  2. Wow Linda . ..this is going to be good, this special time of writing a poem offering each day. Thank you for this one . ..and God bless you!
